Our client is a well-established general building contractor based in Alloa and is looking to bring an Estimator into their growing team.
This role would suit someone with a few years’ post-graduate experience who is confident working from first principles and wants to continue developing their estimating career within a supportive, hands-on environment.
The Role
You’ll be involved in pricing a range of general building projects, working closely with the commercial and delivery teams to produce accurate and competitive tenders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing estimates from first principles
- Taking off quantities from drawings and specifications
- Building up costs for labour, materials and plant
- Sending out and assessing subcontractor and supplier enquiries
- Assisting with tender submissions and pricing reviews
- Supporting ongoing cost checks as projects progress
About You
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- A few years’ post-graduate estimating experience within general building or construction
- Comfortable pricing works from first principles
- Good attention to detail with a practical, commercial mindset
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
