Senior Quantity Surveyor – Central Scotland – Up to £70k DOE + Car Allowance + Package
First Task Professional is currently working alongside a national civil engineering contractor who are gearing up for an extremely busy few years with multiple wins within big civil engineering projects in the energy / power sector.
As such, they have a requirement for Senior QS’s to work on projects in both the delivery stages and pre-construction.

They also have a consistent workload across the Central Belt for the next 5 years through existing frameworks, so no need to travel to the North of Scotland anytime in the future.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue enquiries for Major Plant & Equipment and Sub-Contract packages.
- Vet quotations commercially and negotiate price and terms with vendors.
- Prepare and submit Applications for Payment and/or Invoices, obtain Payment Certificates and progress Client Payments in accordance with contractual obligations
- Measure, submit and agree Variations, Loss & Expense and/or Compensation Events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of Final Accounts
- Monitor on-site record keeping.
- Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles.
- Attend Contract Review Meetings
- Measure, certify and agree Sub-Contractors interim valuations and final accounts. Prepare and issue contractual notices to Sub-Contractors
Requirements:
- Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or advancing Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial skills.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Demonstrable experience on large power infrastructure / OHL or substation projects preferred
- Confident team player with a positive impact.
- Relevant qualification (Degree, HNC/D).
