We are working with a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team in Scotland.
With a strong pipeline of secured work across the major infrastructure, energy, water, and transportation sectors, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business delivering some of Scotland’s most significant engineering projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of complex civil engineering schemes from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Administer NEC contracts and manage contractual obligations.
- Prepare and manage cost forecasts, CVRs and financial reporting.
- Assess and manage subcontractor accounts and payments.
- Identify, manage and maximise project opportunities and variations.
- Support procurement activities and supply chain engagement.
- Work collaboratively with project delivery teams to ensure commercial success.
- Assist with risk management and dispute avoidance.
- Prepare and negotiate final accounts.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Proven experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, energy or transportation projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Excellent commercial acumen and financial management skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships at all levels.
- Experience working on the commercial aspects of projects valued from £5m to £100m+ desirable.
